We launched a brand new connectivity option for the Cluvio datasources. Cluvio agent is a small application that you can run within your server environment or on your PC to enable securely connecting to the database without having to change firewall rules or figuring out how to make your laptop or PC reachable from the internet.
When the Cluvio agent is started, it creates an encrypted channel to the Cluvio servers, authorized with a public/private keypair. When Cluvio needs to run a SQL query, the Cluvio agent proxies the traffic to your database to run the query and fetch the results.
Cluvio agent is written in Rust and available open-source at GitHub.
